Speakers:

Bergdís Elsa Hjaltadóttir completed both a Master’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Iceland 2020 and a Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Iceland in collaboration with the Landspítali University Hospital 2024. She has diverse work experience, including vaccine research at the Jenner Institute at the University of Oxford, held a seat in the board of Pharmaceutical Society of Iceland for 4 years and has 8 years of experience with patients both in Pharmacy and at Hospital. As a clinical pharmacist, Bergdís has specialized in geriatrics, deprescribing, and patient-centered care during her studies. 

Bergdís is working as Research and Clinical Lead at Prescriby, a start-up company focusing on tapering off addictive medication for both naive and chronic users. Prescriby, under Bergdís’ lead, opened a tapering clinic in Iceland in October 2024 and launched their first prospective research with the Orthopedics department of the University Hospital in November 2024. Her focus lies in optimizing therapeutic outcomes through innovative research methodologies, using relevant KPIs to monitor clinical work and ensuring continuous elevation of quality standards and patient safety.

Éva Takács is the Chief Operations Manager at the Pharmaceutical Development and Clinical Research Competence Center at University of Szeged, Hungary. Expert in clinical trials, quality assurance, and healthcare management. She has extensive experience in GCP-compliant studies involving investigational products and medical devices.

Currently pursuing an MBA in Healthcare Management, Éva specializes in regulatory compliance, quality certification processes, and advancing patient safety through innovative health solutions. She is dedicated to optimizing pharmaceutical development and clinical research standards.

Mina Kovačevič completed her master’s degree at Faculty of pharmacy in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2012. In 2016 she finished her Specialisation in Clinical pharmacy at the same Faculty in collaboration with the Slovene chamber of pharmacy. She worked in oncology pharmacy for 11 years, for 6 years as a clinical pharmacist, most recently at the oncology surgical ward. She has diverse experience in working with patients, as well as in research. She has been a part of ESOP (European Society of Oncology Pharmacy) and ESCP for her whole career as a pharmacist, lecturing globally and passing the knowledge, especially oncology based, to different generations of pharmacists.

In 2023 her career had a U turn, as she decided to leave the clinical setting, and she was employed by a global corporate company, where she continues to use her clinical knowledge as a business development manager for Contamination control in cleanrooms in hospitals and pharma industry, especially in oncology and cell & gene therapy settings.

From the beginning of her career she was fighting for patient safety and she continues to do so in her new, even though different career path.
