Descriptive of the Symposium:
The Autumn Symposium in Grenoble will provide a forum for clinical pharmacists, clinical pharmacy technicians, academics, researchers, students etc. to explore and share, and learn from, their innovations. The programme includes many keynote presentations from internationally renowned speakers, interactive workshops, oral and poster research presentations, networking opportunities, and much more.
This year’s symposium will spotlight a crucial and timely theme: Interprofessional Collaboration in Clinical Pharmacy.
As recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), fostering interprofessional collaboration in both education and practice is a powerful strategy in addressing the global healthcare workforce crisis. However, the mechanisms shaping this collaboration differ across health systems. Clinical pharmacists, by nature, never work in isolation. They are accustomed to working closely with a diverse array of healthcare professionals and patients and contribute actively to the development of this interprofessional collaboration.
This evolving model of care emphasizes a higher level of interaction between clinical pharmacists in both hospital and community settings, along with physicians, nurses, and (most importantly) patients and their families. It represents a new approach in both hospital and community pharmacy, enriched by advancements in technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), which is transforming professional relationships and patient care.
During the conference, we will explore the opportunities for advancing interprofessional collaboration in clinical pharmacy, both in education and in practice. Together, we will:
Dive into new pathways and debate how best to integrate clinical pharmacists into interprofessional teams,
Engage with leading experts in clinical pharmacy and interprofessional education,
Discover innovative models already implemented across Europe and beyond,
Explore cutting-edge technologies, including simulation tools and generative AI applications.
Our scientific sessions will feature the most outstanding European research in clinical pharmacy, with oral presentations and poster displays, complemented by interactive workshops where participants can share and enhance their practices.
