Description

The aim of the webinar is to introduce participants to the core concepts and tools of implementation science so that they can begin to develop an implementation strategy in a clinical pharmacy setting.

 

Martin is Adjunct Associate Professor in the Practice of Pharmacy having been full-time in Trinity College Dublin (TCD) until 2020. He is a registered pharmacist in Ireland and entered University practice after completing his PhD in pharmacology. He has taught both pharmacology and the practice of pharmacy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in several Universities in Europe. He was a member of the Task Force of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy on the introduction Pharmaceutical Care in the undergraduate syllabus and was a founder tutor of the Irish Centre for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education and a member of the Steering Committee of the Pharmacy CPD body, the Irish Institute of Pharmacy. He contributed to a review and mapping of Continuous Professional Development and Lifelong Learning for health professionals in the EU.

He Is a Consultant to the European Directorate for the Quality and Safety of Medicines and Pharmaceutical Care, Council of Europe and was rapporteur for the Guidelines on Medication Review published in 2025 and is rapporteur for another project on the Remote provision of Medicines. Martin is a member of Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe and has been PCNE Chairman. He researches in pharmacy practice and education, pharmacoepidemiology and health services research and has published extensively on medicines use by those with Intellectual Disability in a cohort study at Trinity College, IDS-TILDA. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Jordan and is visiting Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Belgrade and a Programme Advisor at the Atlantic Technological University in Ireland. He is a Fellow of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy.
